Jatropha offers a huge ability to utilise poor quality land; it also is a highly productive resource and offers a far higher ability to produce oil than other agro alternatives which tend to use premium land and deplete our ability to produce food crops. Jatropha also allows a huge ability for impoverished nations to earn a living.

Algae can be produced from many sources and they can be used very effectively to clean foul water discharges. At least one major sewage operation in New Zealand, for example, uses algae to increase discharge standards while reaping a potentially lucrative energy resource – exciting stuff! A win win situation.

Mankind often trumpets his achievements but sadly he can also be a very slow learner. Nature offers a huge ability to offer solutions in things like energy, medicine, sustainability, quality of life, etc. Often mankind thinks he can “do it smarter” – but on fundamentals he seldom does!

The Amazon rainforest is like a living laboratory with a huge ability to provide answers to a lot of mankind’s problems. Heart relaxants from venom, leeches for blood disorders, even maggots, etc all have their place. The indigenous tribes have a far greater ability to see the potential – and we have the audacity to call these tribes primitive! We also smash the forests for short-sighted gain.

It’s time mankind learned some basics – at times he creates bigger problems than he solves!

The World Manipulated!

June 28th, 2008

When I researched the uptake of algae into the biofuels regime I find an odious smell – “big oil” is frustrating the initiatives!

“Big oil” are the “fat cats” with established involvement in the oil industry – they have held sway for too long and their tentacles reach into every branch of the establishment. I don’t think it coincidental that we are finding energy alternatives have languished for many years. I also find it hard to accept that years after the Exxon Valdez wrought massive environmental destruction that the punitive fine on the company was a pittance. I believe more that those shores were “greased” – a lot of palms were too! Given the huge resources of the company and the years taken to resolve, Exxon simply could walk away from the issue with a token rebuke. The environment and livelihood of many in the destroyed area will take generations to slowly recover – if they ever do!

As huge trade and financial blocs become entrenched the very real threat of World Government looms – then, as in the oil industry, the World community will be like pawns in a big “game” by a few influential families. These power brokers work in the shadows “pulling the strings” of insipid politicians. Dismiss the thought that politicians hold the power – they are under the orders of those pushing selfish interest. You won’t elect them, they are too smart for that – they have the resources and clout to call the shots from the relative safety of their secure retreats.

It’s time the public woke-up – we are being used – and sacrificed in the name of big business!
